I never thought I would see this and not giggle inside. Today I claimed for my own. It's christmas and even though I am not in the streets or sleeping in my car, homeless is what I am. A permanent guest passing through just waiting for the next break or opportunity or even demand from someone who sees me as in the way or inconvenient to deal with. But I do understand what it means to want respect from those who are unaware or judgmental and actually don't recognize that this could happen to them. You don't change who you are just because you don't have what you used to, but eventually not having what you used to will change how you see others who still have what you once had. Most of all, respect.
